It is said that music is the universal language of the spirit. It transcends time itself to speak to generation after generation of the elusive mysteries and infinite truths inherent in melody and rhythm. Music can offer us sanctuary in times of trouble and joy in times of woe. It brings us together in shared humanity and is something which Fort Lauderdale model Julia Tychoniewicz remains eternally grateful for.

As someone with an extremely Catholic taste when it comes to music, Julia Tychoniewicz is equally at home listening to Beethoven’s unfinished symphony 9, The Beatles White Album, Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On, Nirvana’s Nevermind, or Beyonce’s Lemonade. Tychoniewicz stresses that she only has one criteria when it comes to what music she likes, and that’s if it moves her or not.
“Good music is both of its time and able to transcend its time to possess a universal appeal spanning generations,” she explained. “I like all sorts of genres from all sorts of periods because at its heart music, in the words of Napoleon Bonapart, tells us that the human race is greater than we realize. I think it was Leonard Bernstein who said, ‘Music can name the unnameable and communicate the unknowable.’ That to me sums it up in a nutshell and why people are so passionate about this beautiful noise that comes from the soul of humanity.”
