Becoming a successful entrepreneur is no joke. Given the fluctuating market scenario at any point in time, it is difficult to succeed in any venture since there are many risks to be taken. Yet, many people do just that. The spirit of entrepreneurship drives people to rise to the challenge. Especially for immigrants who come to America to try and make it in this country, business is the toughest nut to crack. The same is true for Ethan Bavuu, CEO of many successful e-commerce businesses, and living proof of realizing the American Dream.
“You understand how to be tough early on when you are an immigrant. You have to take twice the precaution in anything you do, especially business,” says Bavuu. He had only finished high school when he moved to the United States from Mongolia. He could barely speak English and made his first earnings by beatboxing at various venues. Later, it was his pursuit of the American Dream that got him to join the military. “In the military, they teach you the basics of getting what you want from life. I was glad to have had this chance,” added Bavuu, who advanced through the ranks of the military and eventually became a sergeant. Today, he is a US Army veteran with multiple businesses.
But it wasn’t easy to become successful overnight. When he left the military, he went through a few unrewarding jobs before going on to pursue his dream of running a business, which turned out to be a huge success. His military training, in particular, is what he credits with his success in business. “One of the biggest things they teach you in the military is always about facing your fears and overcoming them. Business is the same. Calculated risks go a long way to ensuring that you reach your goal. If you fail or suffer a setback, you go ahead anyway and find a solution,” says Bavuu. He treated his business as a mission, overcoming every obstacle in the best possible way. Years of trial and error have helped him succeed and become the entrepreneur he is today.
